Writer/performer Steve Bird has been producing his own shows at Collective Unconscious since 1997, including Outside the Comfort Zone, Beyond the Comfort Zone, Smirk, The Sexy Project, Ass of Satan and Jealous Competitive Bastard, the latter produced in conjunction with the 1999 New York Int'l Fringe Festival. He participated in the 1998 NY Int'l. Fringe Festival, and in 1999 appeared in Avant-Garde Arama at P.S. 122. His work has been reviewed favorably by The Village Voice, Backstage, Citysearch, Show Business, The New York Blade and Next Magazine.

Steve is also a visual artist. His work has appeared in the Small Works Competition at NYU. His drawings will be featured in the Spacecase Gallery at P.S. 122 in March 2001. The opening will take place on Friday, March 9th from 5-7 at P.S. 122.
